TEMTIA Betty Hay Award
The TEMTIA Betty Hay Lecture & Award stands as one of the most distinguished traditions of the EMT Conference, honoring excellence, leadership, and the legacy of mentorship within the field.
At each meeting, the award recipient delivers a featured lecture, sharing her scientific vision and contributions to epithelial–mesenchymal transition research.
The selection process for the TEMTIA12 Betty Hay Award is currently underway. The awardee will be formally announced prior to the conference and will present the Betty Hay Lecture at TEMTIA12.
The award recognizes an outstanding early-career female scientist who has established her independent laboratory within the past five years and has made significant advances in EMT research.
The Legacy of Elizabeth Hay
The field of EMT traces its origins to the pioneering work of Elizabeth Hay in the late 1970s.
Her early experimental studies helped define the conceptual and experimental foundations of epithelial–mesenchymal plasticity in development and disease.
Through the Betty Hay Lecture and Award, TEMTIA continues to honor not only scientific achievement, but also the spirit of intellectual curiosity and mentorship that shaped the EMT community.
